We have seen photos of starving populations, mostly in barren or poor countries, but North America, and other developed nations, see this epidemic rising.
Hunger is not just from lack of food, it is also lack of proper nutrients, and those are critical for good health.
One of the MOST nutritionally dense and complete foods on the planet is hemp. No other plant food, except for hemp, has all the essential amino acids and protein that are available in a form that is so easily absorbed by the body.
Below is a list of nutrients found in the hempseed:
- Polyunsaturated fats (80% of the oil in hempseed consists of essential fatty acids)
- Omega 3 fatty acids
- Omega 6 fatty acids
- Edestin protein (closest to human globulin, 33% of the hempseed is protein, 2/3 of that protein is edestin; hempseed is also gluten-free, which is good for those allergic or sensitive to the gluten protein)
- Vitamin A
- Vitamin B1
- Vitamin B2
- Vitamin B6
- Vitamin C
- Vitamin E
It is said that Gautama Buddha, on part of his journey to enlightenment, survived by eating hempseeds.
1 in 6 people go a day without proper nutrition or enough food.
Every 6 seconds a child dies from malnutrition.
Of course, there are many factors that contribute to hunger/starvation – some of them being economic, but on the nutritional side, hemp is one of the solutions.
Can you imagine, if we could grow it freely in the US and make it readily available and affordable, how many children and families would NOT go hungry?
*Note – it is recommended to eat about 3-5 Tb of hempseed per day to get sufficient nutrient intake.
